There are several different types of clouds. Even though you may not notice it, the clouds aren't moving! The Earth is, and as the weather constantly changes, so do the clouds. Like one day, it's about to rain, the clouds change from stratus to cumulonimbus! But all the clouds are at different heights! Cirrus may seem like the highest up, but the cumulonimbus extends way higher! Cirrocumulus and cirrostratus come in at about the same height, and the same height applies to altostratus and altocumulus. Stratocumulus, cumulus, and cumulonimbus are approximately the same height, but again, the cumulonimbus cloud extends higher than the cirrus clouds. The clouds that are almost touching the ground, but they are not yet, are the stratus and nimbostratus. And finally, the cloud that is the lowest to the ground is the fog.
